Jason Kalajainen is the Executive metal storage boxes Director of the Luminarts metal storage boxes Cultural Foundation at the Union League Club of Chicago two organizations near and dear to my heart. Luminarts supports and fosters burgeoning Chicago artists through its highly competitive Fellowship program. We’ve worked with Luminarts in varying capacities, from their rebranding to reinvigorating an annual event.
I interviewed Jason as part of our 6 Questions feature: a series of one-on-one interviews with people we work with who make us proud. Read on to learn more about Jason’s take on “what’s in a name,” why he likes working with us and how his personal style makes him stand out in a crowd.
  1. Luminarts Cultural Foundation metal storage boxes was previously called The Union League Club Civic & Arts Foundation until a rebrand that BatesMeron was brought on board to assist metal storage boxes with. Why was this rebrand important? How was the story rewritten?
The former name really didn’t connect with our primary constituents young, aspiring musicians, writers and visual artists. While it was descriptive, there was a formality about it that didn’t necessarily feel as approachable, metal storage boxes energetic and vibrant as we wanted it to.
Secondly, the Foundation really honed its mission at that time to remove the civic engagement element which many other offices within the Union League Club are dedicated to so we could focus solely on the artfulness that Luminarts nurtures and rewards.
Lastly, it was intentional and necessary that the Foundation have an identity and voice of its own, apart from the Union League of Chicago though we’re certainly closely related and connected, we are in fact a separate organization, which makes it important for us to have a distinct persona. 2. Luminarts is a foundation within the Union League Club of Chicago. What’s that dynamic like? How do you balance the needs of a Foundation against the demands of a board?
It’s really wonderful to be part of an organization metal storage boxes with a rich history of appreciating, valuing and supporting the arts and community. It’s fantastic to be an offshoot of those traditions. With that said, there’s this delightful contrast between the tradition and formality of the Club and the Foundation’s mission to support metal storage boxes Chicago’s most outstanding young artists. metal storage boxes
I actually love that juxtaposition. One of the parts of my role I enjoy most is serving as an interpreter between those two entities. I get to explain the history of the Club and why the Fellows can’t wear jeans when they visit us, and, conversely, having conversations with Club members about the work on display, and why a piece they may neglect metal storage boxes is actually valuable.
Being in this role is a gift and it makes me look at the world in a more well-rounded, inclusive way. 3. We’ve metal storage boxes been working on some really beautiful, innovative projects for Luminarts’ events. How has that process gone?
Working with BatesMeron has been great. You sit back, ask us questions and listen to our responses in order to understand what the pieces we’re trying to create, what the event is, and what our intention is, and that seems to be a driving force with you as you create the work. Your team always presents strong options from the get-go. metal storage boxes
I have a very strong viewpoint, and Melissa has been very, very good at taking my feedback and building upon what she initially put forth to create something that’s even stronger. It’s been a fun process! I never feel like there’s an ego preventing me from being open with my direction.
The reception metal storage boxes has been fantastic. When I do an unveiling of what’s been created the response has typically been, “Wow! This is wonderful, this is really going to capture people’s attention.” 4. We know that many Luminarts Fellows have gone on to artistic greatness. Tell us about some of these creative talents and what it’s like for you to witness their successes first hand.
It’s been wonderful to see what happens in their careers metal storage boxes even the recently awarded Fellows. Tracy Cantin metal storage boxes is our female voice fellow this year, and just the other month, the Lyric Opera’s principal performer became ill and they selected Tracy to fulfill her role, which is remarkable for someone metal storage boxes her age. Seeing her star on the rise is just lovely. Additionally, two of our visual artist Fellows are inaugural artists-in-residence at the Ed Paschke Art Center this year.
For me, it’s so much fun because I actually get to know the Fellows and what great people they are apart from their talents. It makes it all the more exciting in my role, and hopefully for the others who are supportive and involved metal storage boxes in the Foundation. 5. What is your ideal “Art Day” in Chicago?
Personally, what I love is the more off-beat sort of thing. Art is so much more than what’s hanging on the wall or

This month will see the launch of the highly anticipated Trials Fusion. The previous games have all been incredible, with each game showing a huge range of improvements and new features. So a new title, which will also be available for the new-generation consoles, is massively exciting. I was given an amazing opportunity to ask Jason Bates, studio brand manager at RedLynx, a few questions about their upcoming title.
Hi! Firstly I'd like to thank you for taking the time to answer my questions! I'm really looking forward to Trials Fusion, as I'm sure many are. What are the new features in Fusion, and how did the team come up with the ideas for them?
Jason: Hi, no problem and thanks a lot for your interest ltc de zoom in Trials Fusion!   While the previous Trials   games  were  published  on  Xbox 360 and PC only, this time we have a multi-platform release on  both  next-generation consoles, PC and Xbox 360. The theme of Fusion is futuristic, with a sleek, high technology - filled world and city and, to contrast, gorgeous  natural  environments. We are also introducing a brand-new, separate FMX mode, where players can perform death-defying tricks on the tracks. ltc de zoom
J:  Trials HD  happened  inside warehouses,  Trials  Evolution took things outside , and with  Trials  Fusion  we’re taking things to the  f uture ! This is the biggest game we have ever  made: The world is bigger, the graphics are updated, there’s a cool storyline, achievements and a separate FMX mode.  There are a lot of amazing new things and secrets to find!
J:  It was, of course, challenging  to develop simultaneously for four  platforms  after working  pretty much on one platform at a time previously . However, RedLynx has over ten years of experience developing and publishing games on multiple platforms, and that expertise was useful wh en  developing Trials Fusion.
J:  It's true we added the BMX to the Trials Evolution line-up with a DLC, but this time the BMX is part of the roster right from launch. And we've also expanded our line-up with an  interesting addition:  a  four-wheeled quad. The quad will provide new challenges even to the experienced Trials ltc de zoom   player s , since it’s a front-wheel drive, unlike a regular Trials bike , and thus works with a very different physics-mechanism , providing ltc de zoom different possibilities and learning opportunities .
J:  Definitely.  The Skill Games as we call them are definitely back with a vengeance in Trials Fusion, and they are integrated into the career mode this time instead of being separated into their own category. They are also a little more directly related to your career, in that we are hoping each Skill Game will teach you valuable lessons in the advance handling of your bike: conserving gas, not over relying on brakes, balance and angular momentum ltc de zoom and regulating your speed; things like that.
J:  The fans have always loved our track editor, and they will absolutely adore the track editor in  Trials Fusion too . The world where you can build the tracks is 4x4 kilometres wide, it has a lot of variation, and there are tons and tons of objects one can use to build the most imaginative, amazing tracks.  So yes, just like with Trials Evolution it is the same editor our team used to build all the levels and Skill Games in Trials Fusion, so you can create whatever mad creations you desire. We can't wait to see what users maker!
J:  ltc de zoom There were so many to call out a specific track or a specific creator at this point wouldn't do justice to the hundreds of top notch creators on Evolution, several of whom were so good they ended up with jobs at RedLynx. The best way really to survey ltc de zoom their work is to go on Track Central within Trials Evolution and view the feed called RedLynx Picks, where we have called out almost ltc de zoom two years' worth of the very best community content to download from there.

(Today’s post comes from Jason Bates, author of The Littlest Spoon, which I loved. Jay and i have known each other for years, and he’s my absolute favorite poet. He was awesome enough to do my Sunday work for me, and I hope you’ll all run out and buy The Littlest Spoon )
I’ve noticed that oftentimes Libby (who in my head always has “the Liberator” attached medidas container to her name) starts her posts with a playlist. I am not sure if those are the songs she was listening to as she wrote the post, or songs that she believes the reader should listen to while reading the post, or is it both? (it’s both ) I feel compelled, not by the Liberator of course, to capture the feel of Glam Geek Writes…so with that said, here be the playlist:
I struggled with the legitimacy of calling myself a writer when literally anyone with a computer and the ability to type letters, numbers or random symbols could publish their very own book. I had deep conversations with friends and loved ones about “success” and “publishing” and “accomplishment”. I drank beer, alone, and bought a pack of cigarettes after almost a year of clean lungs. I dug my old “the Queers” t-shirt out of the box in the closet. medidas container I remembered that I’m a punk ass motherfucker! I paced my weather-worn deck, blowing smoke and mumbling to myself about how DIY isn’t a TV station and how Nike didn’t invent “just do it” and how I didn’t need someone else’s permission to be a writer…to be a legit poet!
I decided on a number. The number of copies of The Littlest Spoon that I need to sell in order to personally validate myself as a writer. When that number is reached, I will put my copy on the shelf alongside my favorite books.

The change has already begun. Five years ago, Kokoro (a Japanese robot manufacturer) created a human

Technological innovation is rapidly changing evergreen container tracking the face of the workplace as we know it. From the office to the factory to the retail outlet, job-reducing technological advancements are sweeping through the UK at an accelerated rate. The workplaces of a decade ago with their clunky evergreen container tracking landline telephones, evergreen container tracking huge desktop computers and grey filing evergreen container tracking cabinets already seem archaic to us in 2015. The next decade will see changes more radical than the switch from desktops to mobile devices. Alarmism aside, we can reasonably predict that sooner rather than later robotics will sweep through UK workplaces.
A widely-respected joint report from Deloitte and Oxford University has recently predicted that 10 million jobs in Britain could be appropriated by computers evergreen container tracking and robots: making 1 in 3 roles obsolete. Across the pond, the Oxford University study has indicated that as much as 47% of the US labour force could be replaced by technological innovations within 20 years. Whilst this may sound unimaginable, evergreen container tracking it s well worth remembering that administrative roles such as clerks, sales assistants and secretaries have reduced by 40% since 2001.
The change has already begun. Five years ago, Kokoro (a Japanese robot manufacturer) created a humanoid robot receptionist for use in offices. If you happen to be in Japan, you might also come across Pepper Softbank s friendly robot which also doubles up as a store assistant/salesperson. Meanwhile in America, you could find the Botlr robot delivering your hotel room service instead of a human bellhop. Let s not forget that self-driving cars have already been launched in the UK this year. Robots are eliminating evergreen container tracking jobs all around us, and the cloud of controversy surrounding robotics is growing stormier by the day.
Technology causing controversy around job-reduction is no new phenomenon: it s been around since the industrial revolution. The English workers of the 1800s destroyed mechanical looms in a bid to keep their jobs, and despite a lack of similar machinery mutilation the UK saw extremely evergreen container tracking mixed reactions evergreen container tracking to the introduction of self-service checkouts. As much as we frequently rely on robotics within our working lives, we fear its invasion. The question is not whether robots will soon be a regular component within evergreen container tracking the UK workplace, it is whether we are right to fear it.
On the surface, the answer is a resounding yes . For a one-off payment (which would generally be around the same mark as an employee s annual salary), a business can now purchase evergreen container tracking a robot which will work tirelessly for 24 hours a day, requiring no breaks, no health insurance and no remuneration packages. evergreen container tracking These automation robots are increasingly advanced, and will quickly change the face of the manufacturing and service industries, disrupting the workplace by eliminating the need for millions of human workers. These job-terminators will undoubtedly put people out of work, and quickly.
But is it all doom, gloom and the onset of an early Armageddon? Probably not. Firstly and most obviously, automation will undoubtedly boost productivity, increase output and lower industry costs all across the UK. Some lines of thought argue that this will lead to a future in which work is no longer necessary, and we are each paid a government stipend to guarantee a living wage. This isn t out of the question, but it s not the most probable outcome. evergreen container tracking
Rather than eliminating the need to work, robotics in the workplace will sharpen our skills and make us work smarter, not harder. Think about it. In a workplace where all manual labour has been assumed by robots, the human workforce will be free to pursue higher-level and more creative jobs. The Third Industrial Revolution will finally allow us to explore intellectual development endeavours and find greater job satisfaction. Gone will be the menial 40 year desk jobs that most people in the developed world are stuck with until retirement, as will be blue collar grunt work. Robots will be working, certainly, but we will be working alongside them in roles which require evergreen container tracking us to use our emotional intelligence and multi-functional skillsets.
There s also every indication that robots will create new industries and drive jobs growth. According to a report by KPMG, driverless cars alone could create 320,000 jobs in the UK, with 25,000 in automotive manufacturing. evergreen container tracking Our wave of new automation robots will need building, developing, maintaining and managing. Then of course, there ll be new and currently inconceivable jobs that will come off the back of a robot-driven workplace. In 1790, some 93% of the US population were farmers, evergreen container tracking and by 1990 that figure had plummeted to just 2%. If this is anything to go by, the robotics revolution will create future jobs as unimaginable to us as nuclear physicists and C# developers were to the farmers of 1790.

kamunikat Irina Shavlyakova Algirdas Baharevich ltc online Arthur Klinov Asya

The lit_krytyka paplauskaja ltc online a modern ltc online Belarusian literature? Why modern writers are so fragmented and how can they unite? These and other questions are answered by Alexander Leaf. The article begins a series of interviews with current Belarusian writers. Especially for community litkritikom. ltc online - Ales as your literary affairs? Above that works, projects working ltc online on now? - I can not complete work on his novel. And I can not release his new poetry collection, which has invested three years ago. This cons. If we talk about the pros. So, despite all the current difficulties, continues the tradition of presenting "Clay Veles". And, at least for me, essentially, again began to write poetry. There was some significant break. There was no call, so I explain myself, and forced to write - is, I believe, glupota. When the soul is silent, unless you have something to say, then do not slovabludits. - You are not a member of any one of our writers' unions. It was a conscious choice? Why did you decide to be out of the unions? - I was the founder of the Free Society of Writers. It was I who wrote all statutory documents, which, of course, then zatsverzhvalisya discussed at the founding meeting. It was I who introduced the charter of the position that the term TVL can not simultaneously belong ltc online to other literary organizations. And I have this position to strictly adhere to today. - How do you assess the situation in the modern Belarusian literature today? - I think the big problem is that today even the writers do not know what the Belarusian literature. For something to exist, ltc online it is necessary that it was something someone needs. Today we are in a state of literature in exile. So, I recently reported that the mother of the poet Jan loaves ltc online put on his grave monument of Russian-speaking. So she did not understand what was dear to her son than he did worked. And if you did not understand, then it is not necessary. ltc online Not once heard stories like grandchildren yakogasts writer surprised to hear that their grandmother is, writing something. That they do not understand and do not need. Previously, it was necessary to state. Let ideological reasons. We created a museum of writers treated the monuments called street. Today, the state is not necessary. Hand on heart we can say that the XXI century napachtku Belarusian literature - it's just us, a few hundred people who created it. Who can say how readers. Readers are consumers. It is unlikely that they can be called guardians of literature, people who support the literary center. From this understanding, it is necessary to build and further our literary policy. - Why, in your opinion, the modern Belarusian writers are so divided even within the same union? - It is an objective process. There are different generations, with different approaches to the understanding of literature and literary mission. There are different aesthetic tastes. There ambitions. ltc online Etc. Kanflity between writers exist in any national literature. Often in these conflicts both sides are right. A tactful, informative discussion between ltc online the parties only enriches the literary process. ltc online But without labeling and without personal insults. - What can unite the modern Belarusian writers? - The concepts that the Belarusian literature - it's just they are. With no state, no patron, no Nobel will not help you. And we must also remember that the Belarusian literature is very moral in the sense of the behavior and actions. A lot of good and bad people-pimennikav, there are those who made bad gyusny act, and in the Belarusian literature is not easy. It's like a family, for a bad deed - just separated from the family. I think this attitude among Belarusian writers emerged in the 30s, when neither that act, a bad word could cost someone's life. - Can you describe suchbellit few adjectives. What is it, the modern Belarusian literature? - Today's literature is at an early age, when the look with envy at adult uncles and all the "brilliant" foreign think a hundred times better than his own - habitual and workaday. Once, when I was come to Novopolotsk manuscripts young writers, just remember a conversation with Serge Minskevich, I said then, that literature should be rich not only text, but also the context. Myths, legends, films, remixes, hoaxes. Then Serge established his translagizm. Which, unfortunately, I have not brought to its logical end. Not made from it a literary myth. That this is not enough. Context. - What do you think of this new phenomenon as literary journalism? - My attitude is good. After all, literary journalists should contribute to context. Their business - reflection regarding the literary works, ltc online the interpretation of parallel meaning and content that lurk in the works, promotion of literature. Asya Poplavskaja, author photo
